My Story

Meet the Owner

I often share the story of how I accidentally found my way into this industry. After being downsized by a large telecom company, I was placed with a recruitment agency. They got to know me well as a creative person who was BCIT business educated and insisted I take an interview with a promotional products and embroidery company. I am forever grateful for their insistence because when I discovered I could work in a creative industry that combines art, fashion, product design, and close collaboration with clients, I was hooked.

My career in this industry has allowed me to work alongside experts and explore the creative inventory of pantones, fabrics, and stories through branding. I have proudly worked under the leadership of Logotex Mfg in East Vancouver, Sudden Impact Promotional Products in the Fraser Valley, eventually creating my own distributorship, simply PROMO, on the North Shore.

Looking ahead, I am excited to continue growing simplyPROMO and helping our clients bring their branding visions to life.

Outside of work, you will find me hiking with family on the local North Shore trails, enjoying a patio seasonal bevy, and definitely taking in the Shipyards events and foodie scene. I love a good workout at the gym and cheering on our teen daughters on the soccer pitch with the North Shore Girls League, alongside my husband and our fur kid, Pippa the labradoodle.

We are local North Shore parents, neighbors, and shoppers. Introduce yourself if you see me—I love to meet new faces.

Q&A with Kelly

Q: Can you tell us a bit about your elf?

A: Sure! I'm Kelly, the owner of simply PROMO. I am a proud mom of teen daughters Bailey and Sienna. My husband and I have been married and living on the North Shore for approximately 16 years. We love it here.

Q: Are you an excellent cook?

A: Not really, but by design. My husband is an adventurous chef for our family and friends, and I am a good co-pilot. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Q: Are you a runner or a walker?

A: I love a good walk and talk on our fabulous green necklace in North Vancouver. The more dogs and coffee shops, the better!

Q: Do you love a big city or small town best?

A: I was raised in the Shuswap, Salmon Arm, so I am a natural fan of small-town values and greetings. However, the North Shore has combined that community feel with the city amenities that I've grown to enjoy without a doubt. It's the perfect combination. for us.

Q: Where do you shop?

A: Local, of course. We are a local business and support local businesses. Today, so far, I was a purveyor at the British Butcher, Andrew's Cafe, and next on the list will be the Lonsdale Quay. And yes, I bring my own bags, funny enough not branded.

Q: What's your favorite part of what you do at simplyPROMO?

A: The clients of course! I come from a long line of ladies who have successfully owned, worked and thrived in retail and customer service environment. It's in my jeans to get that buzz when you help a client find the perfect solution! It never gets old.
